I've had good success rate with rooting green fig cuttings. But this summer, all my cuttings did not make it. I still do not know what went wrong. The cuttings were in a 7" clear dome with 3 ventilation holes. Also I applied rooting powder. But no roots with the cuttings and eventually they died.

This time, I received some cuttings from my friend. So they should be called semi green cuttings. I prepared the standard way, in the same dome. But this time I mix the rooting media to be 1:1 perlite and peat moss, so more perlite. Also I put a heat mat under it with 80F setting.

I believe the cuttings last time may have dried with the leaves curling. This time, I clipped off all the dried leaves.

Not sure if it is harder to root green or semi green cuttings.
