Our Kitchen Remodel

When we built our kitchen/big room it was the 80's and country style was wallpaper, dark stain and lots of wood. We decided it was time to update what we have. I stripped wallpaper, painted trim, doors and cabinets. We added a lot more lighting, beadboard backsplash and quartz countertops. We moved the microwave off the counter to over the stove. We kept the other appliances, the slate floor and the big stainless sink that I love. It is amazing how different it looks.

Love the mix of colors and wood grains

It definitely looks more spacious and less dark and cabin-y. Good job!

Very comfortable looking, I like the mix of "vintage" (scalloped trim above the sink) with updated colors, lighting and floor - a good balance. I also like how you may have resisted the urge to rip it all out and throw lots of stainless, glass subway tile, and halogen fixtures in its place. Nice and inviting.

WOW - how did you do the under cabinet lighting!?

I'm glad you liked it. I hired a good electrician instead of trying to figure it out myself. It sure makes a huge difference doesn't it.
