    Old light

The new one doesn't look bright enough. If you have to keep the blinds can you paint them the color of the trim?

The new one is super bright but I thought it looked small. And no can't paint them.

I think you're right, it's too small. You need something grander. It's not a small table and the light has to command your attention. I'll see if I can dig up something. Maybe it should hang a bit lower???

love the drapes, but definitely need something else for lighting, something not so linear and bigger.

I find, especially for dining, the bare bulbs are very harsh. I'd look for something gentler on the eyes.

Love the drapes! This chandelier is probably too big but they may make a smaller one. I like it because it's lines resemble the pattern in the drapes.

    What about West Elm?

    under 200.00-300.00

Oooo, love that second last one!!!

I'd really like the fourth one if it came in bronze or something darker.

It is antique bronze. Currently on sale for 199.00. Make sure to look for additional coupons.

    "Bubbly
beauty. With shades made of handblown seeded glass and an antique
bronze-plated frame, the Eclipse Chandelier puts an industrial spin on a
classic form. While its adjustable height suits any room, its sweeping
silhouette looks especially dazzling above a dining table.

    • 36"diam.; adjusts from 30" to 66"h.
    • Plated antique bronze; handblown glass.

The drapes make a huge, and great, difference!

Pottery Barn is having a 20% off sale on lighting

This might be better for a square table because it has a round plate. Also, with the mercury glass v. clear, not so much glare and harshness from the bulbs.

I personally prefer the lightness of the brushed chrome of your original fixture. The bronze fixture adds more darkness to an area that already has lots of dark things. I also agree not to get something with bare bulbs....too harsh.

I think alittle more ht would be best for the fixture... it would 'break up' the dark blinds when they're closed... and the dark would be a nice backdrop to a taller chand! I think something more along the lines of what tibbrix or ceezee (tho you'd prob like a more contemp color/ style) show would look the best...

I like the darker because it shows up against the light paint and adds more drama to the fixture.
