Linda, I had a similar situation with my mom when she broke her hip several years ago. She lives in Lakeland, which is a little over an hour drive away. She was in the hospital at least a week before they did the surgery; I worked four hours in the morning then went to Lakeland every afternoon. When she was ready to go to rehab I talked her into coming to Orlando. :)

I'm going to the Jacksonville quilt show tomorrow! Then I'll be sewing on Sunday and Monday, unless DH has other plans I don't know about. :) I need to piece backs for three tops and get some quilting done.

No sewing again. I spent two days in hospital with a gastric bleed and while I seem to be okay, I am incredibly tired. So I will be lolling about trying to regain some energy.

I have a couple of boxes of quilt tops I need to prepare to get in the mail, so plan on doing that this week-end. I think I'm done making Dresden Plates for a gal here in town.....told her if she needed more to let me know....I've made 6 for her and I know she's gotten quite a few from online friends. I'll probably get back to Zelda and check on a couple of quilt tops for borders. Poor Zelda, she always gets put on the back burner. :-)

I'll keep on sewing this weekend...can't shop, garden or walk, ( yeah I could do some cleaning) so besides reading and some catch up on TV series...I'm happy to be sewing.

We are headed camping, but I packed a hand quilting project I've been working on for YEARS since I won't be hiking. It will be good to be in the mountains, enjoying the sunshine & quilting!

I hope to finish up on two lap quilts this weekend. One needs to be trimmed and add the binding. The other is halfway quilted so need to finish, trim up edges, then add binding. These are for our camper to use on those chilly fall evenings when you need a little more than the fire. I have things to do some Christmas projects so I need to get busy on those as well. So many things I want to do as time permits.

Nannykins. Ouch. I hope you feel better fast, but rest is a great cure.

oo Theresa! Feel better fast! No sewing here this weekend. Does going the The Quilt Place count? If so, well, I went there...bought fabric for a backing and then came home and ordered a different one online. (I only had a fat quarter of the one I liked and the store did not have any more!) I'm sure I can use it for something else, however......

Working on the October and November blocks. Might actually get them done and in the mail earlier then the last week of the month! A girl can hope, can't she?!

Thank you all for your good wishes. I have had enough of lying about and tomorrow I am going to DO something. I may walk around the yard and pull a weed and if I feel up to it, I will pull another.

We always think that we would appreciate some real down time , but it wears thin after a bit.

I had a great time at the quilt show yesterday! One of the vendors is getting ready to retire, so she was trying to sell all her inventory - almost everything was 1/2 off! I've been admiring the Garden Patch Cats series, but didn't want to pay $8.50 for one block pattern. Well, she had several, so I took them off her hands at $4.25! I got Avocato, The Stalker, Boscat and Concord Kitties. I also got a kit for a jacket, and a beginner kit to do Kumihimo (Japanese braiding). Yeah, just what I needed, another craft! LOL

Today I've pieced two quilt backs and have one more to go. The second one took a long time; it's pieced and I kept having to add strips to get it big enough. I have yardage for the third one so it shouldn't take long.

Just put the finishing touches on another crib quilt. Another applique quilt. I think I like making these more than piecing quilts. DH drew the tree for me and I got some ideas online for some birds, flowers, ladybugs and a dragonfly. I hope to deliver it to the new mommy sometime this week, but I need to get some pictures first. It was so much fun to make. And two niece's (sisters) are due in April and May, so I have two more to make. I have some ideas floating around in my noggin and can't wait to get started.
