Do you like sectionals? The arrangement you have seems to suggest you might. We really need some more shots from different angles to make really valid suggestions.

In respect to the BIG earth-element in the room and the furniture, I would go for a modern looking sofa sectional, like decoenthusiaste suggests, in a soft earthy color. Then use one chair in a pop-up color, like yellow. Decorate with some fun floral patterned throw pillows, any way you like. I'd also replace the tv shelf with something a bit more open.
