I'm not a fan of them but I think it is because nothing is tied together. I think you need throw pillows on the sofa to tie in the orange and yellow. I'm thinking geometric with navy, orange and yellow.

If you have any art work to tie together the colors that would also work. The stools are growing on me - know too many OSU fans (Cowboys)

Thank you bellburgmaggie and mcbmd3! Your advice has already been helpful. We are slowly decorating... Pillows came with the couch so I am a fan of adding more geometric flair with pops of orange. I do like the kilm pillows but may be a little on the darker side. This is our walk out basement area and I was hoping to make it bright. The stools definitely helped that! :) but I am certainly going to add some more decorations to make the "pop" a little more subtle and not so loud and in your face. Pillows are a great idea. We also have some "classy" beer metal tins we will be hanging up that have some orange in them. And the coffee table is a hand-me-down and will eventually be replaced. Just want to convince my husband to keep them and trust that with some proper decorating they will fit well. Thank you again!

The sofa and rug don't appear to coordinate, and the orange stools don't seem to work with anything else you have selected. Additionally, for how small the space is the four feet on the stools visually take up floor space. If everything else stays, I would select a more minimal stool. Something that works with your shelving and bar top.

Look at Annie Sloan chalk paint, use it to paint you coffee table to match with your lovely orange stools

If you're keeping the rug and still want a pop of color, I would suggest stools in the same color to complement the rug and contrast more with the wood floors.

You just need art over the bar, new throw pillows, and something orange on the coffee table. Keep the look personal.

Your shelves are too neat with everything looking like good little soldiers. Mess stuff up a little, think asymmetry. Orange is not neat.

I'm off to "mess" up the shelves. Great advice! And my husband also suggested the art over the couch. I will probably mix our travel photos in with creative art from some of our favorite places to tie the colors together. Art will be above bar. Have more beer rackets from our favorite breweries being shipped so hopefully can really start finishing up the place.

Paper wheels, where did you find those pillows?

I googled "orange throw pillow" and got lots of great hits. Get some that make you happy. Have fun messing stuff up and please share photos along the way!
