No contrasting corbels.

I find the French Vanilla paint color for the walls not complementary to your charming kitchen cabinets, tile and floor. A bit too warm in tone. Love the paint color on the flour bin.

I think a corbel at each end of the overhang would add some interest.

And I was just thinking what a nice color the "french vanilla" was. Sort of a unbleached muslin shade. It is warm and looks nice with the exposed beams. You have enough gray/white. I can't make up my mind on the corbels. 50/50 - what do you think?

Had you considered wooden corbels? If wooden a simple style and I wouldn't go with a contrast.

I love the kitchen, and the vanilla/white combo...and think of knee banging, so no on the corbels. Plus the modern contrasts nicely with the rustic...maybe use a nice piece of decorative wrought iron as a wall/art piece somewhere?

No corbels..... please no. If you would like an "ending" under the counter top at each end, a simple trimmed extension of the side panels on the island to the floor, closing in the stools would be far better. Keep your CLEAN farmhouse feel going. You need no wrought iron either.. anywhere. Its a lovely kitchen. Simple, farmhouse....... and lovely.

A agree with nixing the corbels. To me they are more Victorian.
