I think new cabinets, granite, stainless steal appliances, doors and paint

I found some cute farm house kitchens I hope this gives you a Idea;)

What about having professionals paint cabinets and island white, new pulls and new counter tops.
I personally like white appliances but that will be too much white, so new appliances in stainless.
Paint the walls light gray or pale blue (not Robin egg).

I see many possibilities here, depending on your budget. one way to keep costs down is by keeping the range/cooktop and sink in the existing locations. Not sure where the refrigerator is, but that might need to be relocated. i recommend new white cabinetry, with a center island in a different color. get rid of the cabinetry valance over the windows. Change the paint color to something more friendly and less harsh - perhaps Sherwin Williams #SW6206 Oyster Bay? also there is a conflict between the wood flooring and the wood ceiling - either replace the flooring with a stone tile or paint the ceiling white as well. Buy new appliances if they are in your budget - a Wolf or Thermador 48" range would look spectacular here! And I would address the lighting - you need general, task and mood lighting. If you really want to go all out, unite the dining and kitchen space by building in cabinetry where the closet doors are and extending the island so it is longer and more inclusive of the dining area.

The very first thing to do is paint over those red walls so you can get some perspective on what really needs doing vs what just looks bad because of the wall color. I'd go off-white or ivory to start.
