Your clear vases would work if you filled them with something dark like pinecones. You could fill them 1/3 with dark beans and then white pillars.

Consider adding pieces with varying height that are larger than what you have now. We found this great Clock that would mimic your wood carving perfectly. In addition we love this tall Berry Branch - Adding tall texture will fill in the space beside the carving and bring the eye up towards it. Grab a couple branches to fill a vase and place it on one side, the clock on the other and your varying vases in between and you are good-to-go! Thanks to both of you! I felt the clear vases were possibly too short and thought maybe I needed something brighter there, like in white or ivory. Or these pillar holders I saw at Pier I, since the accent color in my room is blue. The tall one is 15", so with a pillar, it would be about 20 inches. (The glass cylinders are 16 in.) The height of the carving is about 32 inches, so figured they needed to be taller in scale?!?

I'm on the hunt for some dark pillar holders for one side and a tall black lantern for the other, all holding white candles. Does that sound good?
