Fig Tree will not produce!

Hello,

My husband and I moved into our house in November and the previous owners did a great job with their garden. We have delicious peaches for 2 months out of the year and what looked to be an amazing fig tree.

Some of our neighbors explained that the fig tree has never produced any figs bigger then a nickel then the blacken and die.

We had great expectations this year since the leaves were big and a beautiful shade of green! Just like every year, they started to produce, but them remained dime size for over 2 months then eventually died.

Can someone please assist?

Is the peach tree effecting it? Maybe we can switch up the soil? Does Texas (Arlington, TX) soil make a difference?

Thank you!

Dominique
