Perdita plus a few others!!!

It's dwindling down but still getting a few to share!

Those 4 are all Perdita. It's been an amazing rose my first year. Continuous bloom and pretty clean but I spray.

Lavender Veranda buds. New to me this year too but has slowed down quite a bit.

Those 4 were all Mary Magdalyn. These are also new and very prolific too. Love her but very thorny.

Hope you enjoy, Judy

Judy, those are gorgeous! I love the one you think is Gitte, Sweet Juliet, Perdita, and Mary Magdalyn! They're all gorgeous, love the clematis too!

Wow, so beautiful, Judy! I also got Perdita this year but as an own root from Heirloom. It is growing soooo slowly. Is yours own root or grafted? Fell in love with this rose after seeing its pic last year. I also love your Mary Magdelene. Do you find the color of these two roses similar? From your pics, it looks like Perdita is paler?

Well, surprisingly I see a few I haven't saw yet! Lol. Love them all as always!

Hey Karen. I have 4 Perdita and two are on fortuniana I believe and have grown twice the size and twice the blooms from K&M and the other two are from Heirloom. The blooms are similar color but changes with temps. They are both a little peachier than normal but I love them in any shade. Mary always has the sweet button nose and is much more thorny and shorter.

Thanks, Judy. Maybe it was your pic last year that enabled me to get Perdita!

You're welcome Karen. I must have been enabled by the same picture bc mine are new this year too. Lol

Beautiful! Isn't this too early in your area for them to be slowing down?

Judy, don't know why I not that fond of Austins because these are really lovely. Only have two and they both drop their heads, still! Really like the two Kordes roses and the sultry LS.

Thank Kentucky. We usually start slowing down in September but my beds that still gets lots of sun has lots of buds. Hoping they have all have a chance to bloom.

Yes Sharlene some can def droop their heads. Can be very frustrating but they are beautiful. Most of my varieties don't hang their heads but have several with droopy canes.

    Thanks y'all!!

Wow I love the Lavendar Veranda. I am looking for small cluster of flowers like this. Is this a Mini-flora? Can you give me details on it.

Hi Renata. No it’s no a mini flora but not sure what class it’s in. It blooms non stop though and gets about 5 ft tall and about 2 ft wide. I have several planted together to make a wider bush. It doesn’t get much blackspot but I spray for disease just not regularly. If you have any Lowe’s or Home Depot’s they sell it every summer for about $10.

The fairy is a great pink rose with small flowers in clusters if you need a pink. It comes in lt pink which is The Fairy, a medium pink called Lovely Fairy and a dark pink called Fairy Queen which is the shortest of the three. All great bloomers. There’s a white fairy too.

    Take care, Judy

Judy thank you for your response. I will def look this next season when all the roses come out at Lowe's or Home Depot. It just appeared by your picture (with your hand) that the Lavender Veranda had fairly small flowers which I adore in that lavender color. I will absolutely look a The Fairy ones. Thanks. Renata

Prettypetal, where did you find your Sweet Juliet? I have a friend who is a wedding florist, and she raids my garden in an emergency. ( With my blessing, of course.) She uses Sweet Juliet quite often,, as it’s very popular with her brides. I’ve always told her it must be a DA florist rose, not available to gardeners as a plant. Thanks, Lisa

Hey Lisa. I answered this yesterday but I don't see it now. My Sweet Juliet came from David Austin and a couple from another place on fortuiana (sp) stock but they seem to always stays cream. The Juliet ones from florist always seem to be a deeper color but I love the ones from David Austin. They might be grafted too from them but I can't remember. I have bought grafted and own root from them but don't know who was in what. lol
