Help with under cabinet lighting

I need under cabinet lighting but don't like the cord hanging down to the outlet! I can't open up my wall to hide the cord because I have tile backsplash! I hear the battery-operated lights only work for a few days! Any alternatives you can recommend?

Can you open up inside the cabinet? That is what I would do even without a tile backspash. I think - if you put a plug inside a cabinet, you plug the transformer in that and then put a small hole under your cab and run it that way.
