Christine, They are marvelous. I like them all, but am particularly fond of the first one. Love the petals bordered with that red and it fades into the petals.

Thanks Jeb and Pagan. If u mean the white single I don't know it's name. It fades to a bleeding pink so to me not a true white. I have more that have buds on that even I haven't seen the flower yet. Will post more as they open.

Rick, that first one is my favourite too. The one in the black bonsai pot is my King Crown Thai Soco, loving the roots on it. I haven't been to Sandys as she lives 8 hrs north of me and I haven't been able to get up that way yet. But I have bought 4 plants off her. The 5th and 6th flowers are from her plants. I have 2 more of hers yet to flower, they have buds so won't be too long.

Very VERY nice Christine. The pale trunk on the king crown against the black pot looks ace.

Christine, wow, I didn't like them, I love them, very much. Every one of us in here is addicted to them. We all love DR even each of us have more than enough, but still we want more. You have many pretty ones.

Christine what an amazing collection! I don't have any obesums but after looking at yours I wish I did. I am going to order some from Ko, maybe get some grafting colors. Hope they turn out as amazing as yours. Are yours grafted? Beautiful either way! Would love to see the caudex on them sometime!

Gill, the picotee one u love is also one of my favourites. I bought this off eBay as an unflowered seedling. It was meant to be a Black Fire but I got even better. The photo looks photoshopped but it isn't. I haven't enhanced the colour at all.

Bob, some of them are grafted ones I bought, some are genuine plants that I bought and some are seed grown by me mainly from Mr Ko seeds. The double pink, double lemon and single white candy stripe ones are all from Mr Ko seed. I will take some updated photos of full plants soon and post them for u to see.

Wow! Your blooms look amazing. I love the caudex and roots of that one adenium with only one pink bloom in the black bonsai pot. How did you give it such a good shape? Please can you teach me?

Hi LJ, the one in the black bonsai pot is a Thai Soco King Crown. I didn't do the training on this, I bought it about 12 months ago with the hard work already done for me. Usually to do this technique u cut the tap root off the seedling at a young age and the new roots will grow from the side of the caudex instead of below.

Christine how old does the seedling have to be

LJ, I remove tap roots at about 2 months if grown outdoors, and around 3 inside. You need to place something over the cut tap root. I glue a small disk to it, but you can use different items. The goal is to "block" roots from regrowing in the center. This way, roots will grow around the edge of the plant.

Some cut the bottom of the caudex off, but that's not necessary. I cut the tap and use wood glue and a small disk over the center. The outer edge then grows roots, just like those who cut bottom of caudex. I'll post a picture when I get up tomorrow.

This seedling is almost 7 months old. I trimmed the tap @ around 1.5 months or so. The roots are all around the perimeter. When I trimmed the tap, there were three threadlike roots in this area. Now, there are many, and they almost fill every available space. They are swelling nicely.

First pic was 11/8/15. I still had the paper disk there (that's the brown in the center, it's not rot.) Notice how those roots multiplied. The tap was about the thickness of a pencil when I trimmed it, btw.

This picture was taken 1/6/2016. The plant is the one on the right. When the taps were trimmed, these plants were fairly equal in size. The roots have thickened further, and almost all of the perimeter is roots. (2 months after first pic, and under indoor lighting)

1) Losing the tap root at a fairly early stage keeps the bottom of the caudex flat rather than conical eliminating the need for cutting the bottom all the way off. (look at the neighbor on the left in this pic)

2) The plant's growth is slowed, and may stay slower. Which in my case resulted in earlier branching than those not trimmed. This small plant now has two branches in less than 1" of main stem growth.

3) The caudex exploded in growth. I theorize that this is because the plant 'knows' that it lost the tap root which is one of its major suppliers of water.
