I recommend you choose a native cultivar of wisteria, such as Blue Moon (Wisteria macrostachya) or Amythyst Falls (Wisteria frutescens). Also stongly recommend choosing a native honeysuckle to grow, such as Coral honeysuckle, (Lonicera sempervirens). I think you will regret planting any of the invasive ones.

I've got Coral Honeysuckle seeds if you want to try growing that. In Central Texas, the only place you see Wisteria growing is in the middle of the yard, so it can't grab onto anything. Even at that, it's not in many yards.
