I am doing the FMQ on a twin size quilt I am donating for a raffle. It is going well and I will be working on that off and on all weekend. I am also quilting up several quilt tops that will make good quilts for the donations to the kids in the Napa fire area. Have lots of yard work for when I take breaks.

No sewing this weekend - I am going to support my other addiction - scrapbooking! DH is taking the dog camping tomorrow afternoon and 5 friends are coming for a weekend sleepover (although we probably won't sleep much!). I am SOOO far behind - I was going to get my son's scrapbook done before he got married 2 years ago - and I am only up to age 6. He turns 30 next week. Yikes. If I get 3 years done this weekend I will be so excited! Needless to say, I am not doing fancy!

We will have fun visiting, eating, and spending some time in the hot tub, too.

Hopefully my Pfaff will be back from the shop next week and I can FMQ a baby quilt I need to take to Arizona on the 22nd!

Thanksgiving holiday this Monday, so DD2 is coming home today. We usually have our dinner on Sunday so any travellers have Monday to return home. So wishing all Cdns. here a Happy Day and all the American cousins a Happy Columbus Day.

I am going to get her to help with some tulip planting.

I spent a good chunk of yesterday cutting scrappy log cabin logs for one of Sara Nephew's patterns. That will be the fourth "kit" I'll have gotten ready to take to Hawaii this winter. I now see how much fun it is to do "scrappy." This one looks like snowflakes, so I'm using greys, blues, teals and whites. Still not totally scrappy, but getting closer. And I get such satisfaction out of making a beautiful quilt with leftovers.

We've got company coming Sunday, so a bit of housecleaning will be in order.

I still have the same quilt on the frame from last weekend (I didn't have much "stick-to-itiveness" last week). It's nearly done, so it's first up. After that, I'll be working on whatever strikes my fancy!

Finishing the October block , starting an Attic window quilt with a panel - saw it on MSQC site and was intrigued and have fabric ready to cut for a snowman wall hanging.

Donna, one of my grade Nine teachers told me I had no stick-to-itiveness. Now every time I put something aside to work on later, I hear her voice in my head . 70 years later, she is still giving me the needle. And sometimes I believe her and other times, I say not nice things to her.

Theresa, it's funny how those things can stick with you, isn't it? I expect teachers have to be very careful about what they say to kids (especially younger ones). I fell out of a tree and fractured my wrist in the second grade. I had to keep the arm with the cast in a sling for a few days, and I still remember my teacher putting her hands to her face and exclaiming "Look at our wounded bird!" when I went to school on Monday!

Donna, I had to get 2 letters of recommendation for college. One of my employers said I could finish the program on stubbornness alone. It may take me a while, but I will finish.

I have Sharon's Carpenter's Star in the frame. It is coming along nicely and if the boys will behave so I can work I should make good progress this weekend.

I got the quilt on the frame completed, now I am binding it... binding is not my favorite part, but I want this one bound by hand.

I don't like hand sewing binding either, my thumb gets sore. But now I have LOTS of clips so it should be easier.
