Nice! I keep hoping I'll find a praying mantis on my plumerias. I saw a couple green bugs on my flowers that sort of reminded me of mini praying mantis. I googled them and it turns out that they are assassin bugs and beneficial. Yes!

Keep looking for those little guys!! They are all around!!! When I saw this one, I just about jumped back because of her size!! Can you see her belly? OMG she must have had her mates head with that appetite.. Ewwww!

Hollis.. You too!! Yes!! She looks a little more along in her maternal ways...

You must be so happy as well. I have been keeping a close eye on mine and now I see her in the corner of the window screen dining on the insects caught in the spider web.. Then she eats the spiders. Lol. She will wait for another spider to come along and take up the new vacant spot.. ;-)

Rox!!! This late spring will be the "baby Mantis Shower". Just remember this egg sac will produce 100-200 baby Mantis.. So I guess we will need a huge yard and tables. OMG. What about the food? ;-). Lol..

They like to hatch a few weeks into the warm weather so that other insects will be out and about to fill their bellies. The mothers lay the sac on a woody material about a foot into the air so the little ones won't have to far to travel once the are hatched. She will lay them on the trees before her life is over before winter.

Here is a pic of a egg sac. Pretty neat huh? Sometimes people mistake them for other insect sacs.
