Building a Home

New kitchen

Having a new house built...looking for kitchen ideas/suggestions. Please critique layout. I would like to put an appliance garage next to the fridge, instead of the cabinet. Also, China hutch ideas? Please feel free to share pictures as well! Thanks!

LOL mrspete. I prefer an island layout because I find two people get caught in the same corners trying to work in a U shaped layout.

I would make the island wider to narrow the distance to the refrigerator.

I had that very same layout (it's not 'specially unique) in a rental house once. Except our kitchen was a U, whereas yours has an island. I personally favor the U because it "corrals" the kitchen into one area and keeps traffic out.
