Who's at Fault?

Last month we had 4 large dead trees removed by a reputable tree removal company in town. We had used them 2 years prior to treat those trees in the hopes of saving them (from the Ash Borer disease). During the stump grinding process, our outdoor speaker wires were destroyed along with one of our four outdoor speakers (we had just installed them this summer). One of the guys on the crew informed us before leaving. We finally replaced the wiring and speaker for $457, but we are hesitant to contact the tree removal company for reimbursement because we feel we are partly at fault for not alerting them that we had wiring in place in the backyard. My husband thinks it's a lost cause while I feel like both parties are equally to blame and should split the expense. Btw, we have 4 more dying ash trees to remove in near future...
