Something's off here, I don't think the entry hall is right, the house looks traditional so if you are going to go bold decor has to make it work ,entry looks like a baby nursery compared to the two other rooms

Yeah, I don't think the green is working. It's too bile-green, especially for a dining room. Take a look at Dunmore Green or Parrot Green from Ben Moore. It might look nice here.

Like anything else.. any color needs to be lived with for a while to really appreciate it or figure out what is needed to make it right.

As a decorative artist and muralist I could work with these and design a wall finish that would look extraordinary and unique to fit the area.

Hello, it's best to work with complementary colours of the same tonal value. So if you want to stick with the teal then I would suggest you change the green to a tangerine hue. This is a good example of the resulting look :-

thanks for all the comments, because several people, including a few here advised us not go rush and change the green, I think we're going to see where it goes for now. we put the furniture back but now the decor needs some work to go with the walls. the rug was very expensive in it's day and we would prefer not to replace it, however the chairs are almost certainly going to be changed, artwork, and curtains. any ideas on how I could tie in the rug or what I should do to try and make the green work??? also remember the teal room across the hall, should I try and work in colors from there or consider the room it's own entity?

Large art on the walls and an occasional print fabric or texture (fabric covered dining room chairs, an upholstered sofa, . You can have a lot of fun finding the artwork, as you already know what colors to look for. Stick with your choices for now and the art may push changes later.
