Unless you absolutely need to cover your door for privacy reasons, I would not cover up that lovely clerestory window. Just dress the window to the left of the fireplace.

I think roman shades are an excellent choice. They come in a lot of beautiful fabrics and colors as well as cordless so you don't have to worry about cords clanking around on the doors.

Hello Laura, Romans are an excellent choice. Look for a Hunter Douglas dealer in your area and ask to see the Vignette Modern Roman Shades. They have minimal stack to allow lots of natural light when you put them up and have no exposed rear cords that regular romans have. This will look great!

Panels would look great if they didn't hang over the mantel, the wooden rods don't work at all. Romans hanging over the the tops of the openings at the same height would work, but they have to be outside bracket, no room for inside mounts. Busy door can" be accesed from out sideside if romans are down. Romans mounted on door beat both of them up. I would go with the former. Hope someone can come up with something better.
