My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

    We love the fireplace too. Where did the fireplace come from? Also, who did the floating beams? How are they suspended?

    Hi Michelle...the Fireplace is custom made by "Specialty Fireplaces by Wayne Holsapple". Here is the link to their Houzz page.

    If I remember correctly it measures about 2' x 3' at the damper hood. It is a gas fireplace and has a electric exhaust vent at the top of the insulated flue to exhaust combustion gases.

    The wood beams are suspended by means of a "all thread' rod that is attached to blocking in the roof structure. The all thread is shrouded in a copper tube to create a more aesthetically pleasing look.
