Love the weathered shingles!

Could you tell me what type cedar shingle was used and if it was treated or stained? I'm trying to get this look but mine is weathering unevenly and it's very attractive.

These are western red cedar 18" blue label perfection shingles. There is no stain on them. The picture was taken about 11 years after the shingles were installed.
