I'm finding its a weird fall for some plants. I lost a couple liatris from rains early this season growing down in the lowest spot by the street where the water drained so long but most survived elsewhere. These are wild types like those that grow along the roadsides here so they are good for Oklahoma conditions.

Anyway, the same as it is with your sedums, here it is, prime time for blooms, the plants put up stalks as usual, got loaded with buds, then when the blooms were barely showing purple they all just dried up. I am wondering if its the rain followed by drought? Anyway, its not a typical fall blooming year. Thats my guess judging by whats going on here. It'll save me collecting seeds because usually they are loaded and if I don't, I'd be overrun.

Even the ornamental grasses are punk on blooming, especially the Gulf Muhly and so are the Autumn greggii salvia.

No blooms or buds at all on the native azure sage. Last year it was loaded.

Lantanas are blooming fine. Double zinnias are punk but the single flower types look good, they have naturalized here and do quite well.

Russian Sage all blooming good except one that nearly drowned, its a mere shadow of its former self.

Leaves have been falling off trees all summer and that has also picked up in speed, its been a messy year for trees.

I ordered 3 'Autumn Fire' from SRG, they are supposed to be improved over Autumn Glow for staying upright. Time will tell. I haven't grown them for years but the unimproved types always flopped. I'm wondering if anyone else has tried these?

Actually I'm wanting the dried seed heads for winter interest even more than the pink blooms so yours look visually good to me. I almost ordered that gold blooming type.

Your sedum should be blooming. But like tr2 says it has been a strange year. Have they ever bloomed or are they first year plants. If you have had them for a while and they have never bloomed try moving them to more sun. If they are first year plants they may not bloom til next fall. Sedum are very reliable plants.

It was planted last fall, and bloomed then. But, I guess this is the first full year. It looked good all through the deluges. I measured 57" of rain on my property in April and May. I did lose some hollies, and some Turks cap, along with some hawthorne. My Turks Cap also did not bloom this year, and it sprouted soooo late, something like early June. I guess it was all set back.

What was confusing was having tons of bees all over the sedum as recently as a week ago. I thought it would bloom!

my red sedums just finally bloomed about 2 weeks ago and are wrapping up now.

My Autumn Joy Sedums got very leggy due to the rains early in the summer and though they bloomed, it was more tan than rosy colored as usual.
