Kitchen Color

I just painted my condo a neutral color (Sherwin Williams-Latte). Looking to give the place a little color, as the kitchen is currently brown. In certain lighting, the Latte walls look on the darker side (almost goldish-not show in pics), too close to the kitchen. Not to mention, kitchen walls are more clay-brown, from a general different color scheme. Pallets just don't match. My concern is getting a splash of color that will look good with the granite and cupboards. I'm thinking about Sherwin-Williams Halcyon Green or Quietude. General house theme is neutral walls, navy, light aqua & coral decor accents. Thoughts?

you have both navy and aqua elsewhere?in what areas and how much? I can see a vibrant blue as a color to balance out all the latte and copper kinds of brown here. The edgy gold is odd with the browns....I think a blue would cool the browns and caramels. Are you wanting to paint a contrast wall, or is this more like tablecloth/mats on floor/towels/pottery/etc.?? Are backsplashes not allowed...I see you don't have one...that's a spot you can do colorful tile as an option.

Thank you for your feedback! No navy/aqua paint anywhere. I plan on having Navy & white 12" horizontal striped curtains on large window in living room. This blue/green color would replace this copper brown. All walls outside of kitchen are neutral latte color. Navy/Coral/Aqua decor- area rug, throw pillows, table cloth, wall art, etc. is what I'm planning to spice up the neutral latte. I am able to do a back splash, just other projects are prioritized at the moment. Maybe down the road! LED lighting in the eating area has helped with the off tint/caramel shade of that area.

Well, you could go with something along the lines of darker blue, e.g. BM Van Deusen, Hale Navy, Newburyport, etc.

Or something lighter, like BM Wythe Blue, Woodlawn, Yarmouth Blue, Wedgewood Grey, Palladian Blue, etc.

We chose BM Champion Cobalt for our open concept kitchen/living room. We absolutely love it. Here's a picture before our kitchen reno. We are going to put the same color up after the reno.

And just because I'm excited, here's where we are in our reno:

This isn't helping with your pop of color but our living room and hallways are SW Latte and our dining room and kitchen (all one great room) are SW Kilim Beige which is 2 up on the paint chip. It's a subtle difference but I like how it lightens up the kitchen.

    One more.

I think that navy would look really sharp had my cupboards been white. I like your reno, edenaurora. I'm leaning towards the blue green rather than navy because my floor is already going to be dark mahogany.
