Would depend on the type of equipment I suppose. But as far as I know steam jicers only work on soft skinned fruits and vegetables that have a good water content. So things like tomatoes would work and maybe cukes if peeled but you aren't going to get much juice from hard vegetables like carrots, peppers, and such with steam. They require mechanical mashing.

i just got my first steam juicer and haven't used it yet or even taken it out of the box. I am wondering if juicing the tomatoes in that for this recipe would save any time? Then cook down the other veg in a little tomato juice so there is not as much to run through the food mill. I use a KA veg strainer which plugs up after so many tomatoes.
