it's really nice that you have the door to the outside and those windows across the top of the bed. An inexpensive fix would be to paint a headboard on the wall, or get one of the decals on Houzz. Don't be afraid of color. Think of your favorites, what would be soothing to you, and what goes with the rest of your house. I have soft yellows and pinks in my bedroom, and accents with white. Go to inexpensive stores and see what you like. I like handmade quilts instead of manufactured comforters, but I do use a white cover on my winter duvet. You can find quilts in little shops around your town and on the internet.

Love the clean lines of your new furnishings and think that blenheimnewzealand is spot on with the bedding suggestions. My only bit of advice would be to ditch the polished brass ceiling fan.

I think it would be great to move the bed to the wall that the dresser is on. From there quality bedding--look into eastern accents.

The red bedding really isn't working with the bed and the window treatments. I would agree to move the bed but it doesn't look like there would be room for the long dresser. Everything in your room seems really low, no lamps no artwork. I would maybe do some floating shelves on top of the dresser to move some of the clutter off the dresser, hang some artwork, and definitely add lamps to the nightstands. if you use a color on the bed, don't just use it there. add accents of that color in other spots in the room such as art and decorative items.

Quilt and chair from West Elm, duvet from Pottery Barn, lamps from Crate & Barrel, and fan from Home Depot.

Replacing that ceiling fan with an Aeratron AE3 in almost any of our colors would be a massive improvement aesthetically as well as keeping you cool.
