At 5 months old the plant should be much bigger and bearing fruit. I suspect the weak, lanky growth is due to lack of sun (full sun is best), possible overwatering, a potting mix issue, and/or a lack of nutrients. More info is needed on these. As for what type of tomato, it's impossible to tell.

Base on your description the main issue is probably the lacking of full and direct sun. Usually at 4-5 months old tomatoes should already be producing fruits. I would add more soil (preferably good compost) to the pot and cover up more of the plant. You want to bury tomato deep as you can because anywhere the stem touches soil it put out roots. Don't over fertilize or over water. Your soil mix should have some drainage to allow the roots to breath, I mix perlite in my potting mix to improve drainage (not too much or it may drain too fast). Make sure the container have a few holes for drainage.

Sometimes when a plant is weak and have issues when it's young, it may never reach its full potential. Sometimes it's better to start another plant that is healthy from the beginning, in which case it will out grow the older weaker plant. This plant doesn't seem to have any disease though, so I would keep growing it.

Thank you both I think it is a combination of lack of light and overwatering. The soil may be constantly damp due to its placement and the sunlight because I was afriad may have been to hot and might have burned the plant. I'll move its location and add compost as suggested
