How to clean crewel wingback chairs?

I have 2 of my deceased mother's beautiful crewel wingback chairs. The background used to be creamy white, but over the years it has yellowed a lot; these chairs are at least 30 years old. Any suggestions on who could clean them? Or how? If the yellowing is something that can't be fixed, I'm thinking of having them recovered but saving the crewel fabric to make pillows, I just can't bare to part with such gorgeous crewel fabric! Help!

Rug cleaning companies often clean upholstery as well.

I would call a re-upholstery shop and see of they have any suggestions. I like the idea of pillows if they cannot be cleaned.

Don't pair them with the dark, heavy leather ottoman/coffee table. They're too unique for that!

Look for a round glass top table. This may not be the perfect one--but similar.

Try a wool was with a sponge, similar to the sponge bath for babies

Marggee20 what did you end up doing to clean the chairs or did you reupholster them? Ironically, I have the same chairs that were my mom’s and need to see if can clean them.

I too have the same chairs that were my mothers. she purchased them in 1972 when we had or home remodeled. i have them now & they need to be cleaned. what did you end up doing?
