Papaiios prefer to remain evergreen so if you've put your pot outside for the summer (in a semi shady spot I hope) bring the pot in as soon as the nights start to go into the low 50's. Give the pot some sun, doesn't have to be full sun, a few hours in the morning or anytime of the day should suffice. You may loose some leaves but it should keep a few so don't over water in the winter but don't let the soil dry out for too long by any means.
If you should be lucky enough to get flowers at some point, you might want to freeze a little pollen if you hybridize as papilios are very finicky about blooming. I've got some plants that haven't bloomed in a few years, but remain leafed and healthy. In my opinion hybridizing with papilio will give you the most interesting and beautiful flowers possible! If I could only have one pollen to work with it would be papilio hands down.

It depends on where youi live. It likes daily water when it's growing and very little when even semi dormant.It will lose its leaves only during extreme heat .It needs noon and afternoon shade in my area.It MUST be well drained. It will grow without any soil when misted often.It may be immune to mosaic virus. It most certainly never shows any symptoms.
