Chairs are good to go, but you'll have to do something about the rug. It should be 4 feet wider and longer than the table top so you have room for chair scoot and sit space. Your chairs will need more rug under them because they can't scoot close to the two pedestals and their "feet." Plus, the new chairs have more of a splayed leg on the back, so you may need a bit more room on the rug. All this rug sizing has to take place without running into walls or furniture on the walls. It may require turning the table the other direction, or you may find you really don't have the space to use a rug with these chairs and this table. Take some painter's tape and with the chairs all in place, tape out the necessary rug so all the chair legs are on it when pushed up to the table. Then pull them all out and sit in them comfortably as you would at dinner (don't forget to pull one out for your fat uncle) and tape again. This should tell you what you need to do rug wise.

Chairs look great and if you decide you want a rug you definitely need a bigger one. If you don't want to buy a new one now I would leave the table and chairs without a rug. I would put a centerpiece with some color.

I agree with rug size development too. You might end up having a broadloom carpet cut and bound wiht fabric edging with a foot wood border showing around the room.

Love the cane back chairs. My personal insanity would have me painting them with a high gloss lacquer and putting a fun sophisticated fabric on the seats. Drapes flanking the windows. Traditional to transitional.
