Hello houzz community - first timer here. We are at a standstill on our home project. We are going to be making some exterior improvements that will involve changing what is the current dining room (large table will be relocated to back yard space) into an indoor/outdoor space. Explanation of each photo below:

*Fireplace view on left - this is the view entering from the front door

*Refrigerator view on right - this is also the view from the front door (the living room space where you see the black couch & coffee table will be relocated to the current dining room space - which is becoming an indoor/outdoor space).

*TV view on right - this will all move into new indoor/outdoor space. This view is also looking into the area where we have 3 small bedrooms (guest, jam room, office) & a bathroom).

*Front window/front door view - this is looking from the open hallway which leads to the 3 bedrooms (see above space).

*Dining room - center column will be removed and the doors will be replaced with something that will compliment the NEW indoor/space to go here (loungy indoor living room w/outdoor covered seating just outside this space that will look out into pool area as well as a fit-pit). The table will be relocated to an outdoor space (see door open to the right, that leads into the current laundry room which will go outside into a new space) this laundry room (which is awful condition) will be torn down to be included into an outdoor entertainment area. The wall that this door is hanging on, will stay up and include french doors.

We are having a hard time visualizing this particular part of the project. We were going to leave as is (but relocating the spaces - living room goes to dining room, small dining area in front and a small seating area to compliment the fireplace wall). The front room windows will be replaced with french doors opening to a small front patio area. Currently, it just doesn't flow. We would like to take down the column (if not weight baring in the kitchen) and open up the space just a bit so the space where the dining table is will be more exposed. The whole idea is to create better flow. While we aren't stuck on anything (furniture, fixtures) we'd like to not have to totally overhaul this area. The horseshoe kitchen and lack of storage is a total challenge. Suggestions? We're going with a clean (but warm), minimal, slight mid-century feel. Thanks!
