Hi Houzzers,

We have recently finished a major main level Reno in our small split-level. A wall was opened up between kitchen and dining area, floors re-stained , travertine wall added and kitchen gutted.

I really love the results, but it all still feels unfinished. I need some advice regarding the finishing touches.

1) I want to choose an accent color, everything seems too monochromatic right now. I am planning on replacing the mirror above the console with a piece of art ( and ideally pull a color out of that), but I'm having a lot of trouble getting ideas .

2) the dining room table and chandelier will be replaced in a couple of months. We want a smaller table that can still be extended for company, but more fitting for a family of four day to day. I can't visualize what kind of chandelier would work with the kitchen. Once that is chosen, I can then choose the lights that go over the sink in the kitchen.

3)I love my hunter Douglas silhouette blinds in the living room, I'm considering adding the same thing to kitchen window, but I have no clue what to do with the patio door . I would love long colourful curtains, but their is no room to the right side of the door . Ideas please !

Any other "finishing touch" suggestions welcome!
