I think green or very light yellow in the kitchen. A nice taupy tan in the rest of the rooms.

I suggest you visit the Benjamin Moore website for color combinations. You can enter the name of the material used as your counter top for example and get custom coordinated suggestions in a variety of themes. (I am not affiliated in any way with BM)

As this is not your furniture, I think you need to see YOUR furniture in the rooms, if you need to purchase new pieces do that first. Choose all rugs. The last thing is to choose a paint color..LAST. Buy samples and paint poster boards 2 coats so you can move them around to see how they really look. The paint color is the "glue" of the house..choose it wisely, not hastily. I would also wait to decide to paint the brick of the fireplace AFTER I paint the walls, because your paint choice will change the entire feel of the house. My best to you.
