Or how about we keep the pillars like the user specifically outlined. You just nee to connect the floating ends to something. Either make a decorative mini-arch and connect then together or have a connecting piece between the end and their adjacent ceiling beams. Maybe a connecting piece that curves with the bow faced down and towards the wall.

Nope. They are not doing anything for the space now, adding anything will make it double distraction ...sometimes the truth hurts but I can't see any value decorative or monetary of adding anything to them

I agree with Brandi, I think the pillars look out of place and are a negative distraction to this great room.

Pillars look load bearing, perhaps. You can clad them as an alternative.
