Choosing light over sink..

last modified: 11 years ago

I need help choosing the light over my sink since I chose island pendants that are a little different. I'm thinking a schoolhouse light might look okay but I'm open to other options.

The two pendants on the island are these Minka Lavery lights:

The issue other than trying to find something complimentary (I don't like anything else in the line) is that the color is somewhere between a nickel or pewter color and a gold/brass. Hardware will be polished nickel, but I don't want the kitchen sink light to be polished nickel. Should I do a flush mount, semi-flush mount, or a pendant with a chain?

With chain (chain would be shortened to just a few links)

Or

OR

I'm just not sure which direction to go. Open to suggestions.. Or should I go in an entirely different direction? I don't really want this light to stand out, more just coordinate. Kitchen will have a little bit of a vintage feel, but more of a mish-mash than anything.
