Move lilac now or wait until spring?

I have a small reblooming lilac I want to move from front to back yard. Can I do it now or is it better to wait until spring?

What Ken is saying, in case it's not clear, is we don't know if you're in Florida (unlikely but again, we don't know), Virginia, Michigan, Ontario or where. This data point matters in attempting to help you out.

Sorry, I am forgetting we don't have our state and zone in our tag lines anymore. I'm in Va zone 7 and the bush is About 12-18" tall.

If you want to put location information back in, click on My Houzz in the upper right hand corner, go to Edit Profile and pick Advanced Settings. The location field is near the bottom.

If you want to move it now, it will probably be fine. Something that size can often be moved without it even knowing.
