Well, as veteran contractors who actually do this type of restoration I respectfully disagree with Stuart Nordin. A company set up to remove and slick a popcorn ceiling can effectively cover and protect,remove unpainted "popcorn", slick the ceiling with what we call a skin coat, sand and paint for around 3 dollars a square ft. I read the article about plank and if I read it correctly they quoted a Lowes product at 11 dollars a box . The only product I could find was 93.00 for 29 square feet. We would charge at least 3 dollars for install. If your ceiling has been painted with any latex paint it compounds the removal process and adds to the expense. Good luck with your project

I noticed there is a review by someone who also used it as a DIY to cover their popcorn ceiling and they gave it five stars :) In my perfect world I would alway use a company like MHA to resurface if my client's budget allowed. I have done both ways several times for several clients and everyone has been happy no matter which route they chose. Bottom line though is popcorn must go! :) Good luck!
