Need help in my Living Room

Hi All! Something is not right about this room and I think its the coffee table. Is it the size, color, or both? This table is 39" square and might be outdated. I was thinking a curved table with cleaner lines and a bit smaller. Thoughts? Thank you so much for your help!

I agree about too many patterns. I think a solid top coffee table look better.

Very pretty room. I can tell you've put a lot of thought into it. I like the mix of patterns, and think they're well-done. and I also love the table, but it doesn't look correct proportionally to the sofa. It's also too similar in color to the rug. Maybe glass?

A lovely and inviting room. Agree that the table, though charming, is too big for your sofa, which seems to be on the small side. Also feel that the two wood finishes (on the coffee table and then on the console under the TV) compete with one another, but I know what you are getting at with the two wood tones, those shades are elsewhere in the room. I think the picture above the fireplace is a little busy, but I know ZERO about art. The rug is absolutely gorgeous!

I think you nailed it - that coffee table looks out of place. if it were my room, I'd want something darker to pick up on the other dark elements in the room.

I agree that the pattern play has been well done here and it's the proportion of the table that's throwing things off. A round glass table might work well instead.

I would also remove the picture hanging to the left of the tv. It looks lost in that space.

Love the room and I think it's very well put together. I like the mix of pattern not a boring room at all. You knew yourself about the size of the table, just needed some reassurance. it is a lovely table I'm hope you can use somewhere else.

Nine arabesques: two pillows, chair, ottoman, lamp base, 4 panels on the TV stand. My eye skips around the room from one to the other.

I'll take the table if you don't want it, lol! I don't think the room looks bad at all, but another table might give you more room to maneuver and not make it seem so busy color and texture wise, but you could just maybe edit some of the other elements in the room for the same effect. If it were me, I'd be quite happy with thing the way they are. I'd want to maybe do a little something with the TV wall to cozy it up art-wise, but that's all. I love the room, it looks very inviting! I seriously love that table though! It would be difficult for me to part with it. But something more modern with cleaner lines would freshen up the room and probably make you very happy. I just lost my uber cool coffee table but it was my late mom's and my dad wants to take it to his new house so I'm adjusting. I have a little boring one I hate, but it will do for now. Shopping for a new table will be lots of fun for you hopefully!

Since your lovely room is somewhat eclectic, I would recommend a new wood coffee table in a darker finish.
