Clifford, I feel like the design is too choppy. I would incorporate the wood over the stone and down the wall so that the fireplace and entertainment center are one.

What I would do is take the wood above the stone all the way up to the ceiling. Then start the wood center next to that. Make sense? Keek the stone on the front of the fireplace - except above the shelf (the skinny part of the stone). Can you redraw and repost?

Second design is a huge improvement. Don't love the designs where the upper cabinets meet the lower...too monolithic.

I agree with bumping your fireplace out and creating a floor to ceiling look, cover it with granite , travertine, or onyx slab.

I would lean towards a modern Scandinavian design. Try blocking the fireplace chase all the way across the fireplace and entirely to the ceiling with a neutral finish. Where you are floating the cabinet shelf all along the wall try a black finish, to ground the space. Balance with the cabinets where they are but all the way up to ceiling. Size the width of the cabinetry based on the required space for the TV. Tv can go where it is just make sure it has the required distance from heat (check with a media specialist). I think you would need 15-18 inches min from the fireplace fir visual balance. I think the present fireplace chase is too narrow to be successfully balanced with the cabinetry. Personally I would lose the horizontal shelf across the top of the TV. If you need something above later place a great piece of art. Have fun!

They look like two separate units now, whereas in the last mockup they looked more integrated. I think I prefer the last design.

My choice would be Crema Veijo Travertine Slab . It would be a good combination between the color of this slab and fire.

I like the last design but you need to keep the fireplace and the entertainment center in the same color to keep it together. Maybe move the shelf above the TV all the way up so that it is the same height as the other cabinet's top.
