We opened the house up leaving one pole for support that is attached to the island. The adjacent living room is BM Chelsea Gray and the other adjacent room is the dining room and is BM Silver Fox, both are open to the kitchen now with a small wall on either side of the opening from the dining room to the kitchen. All trim in the house is the Simply White and the remodeled 18ft fireplace is done floor to ceiling Expresso stained Oak as well.

I am planning Chelsea Gray lower custom built Shaker Style cabinets with crown atop, including the full double oven stack in the right corner and the pantry on the opposite corner of the kitchen. Simply White reeded door front upper cabinets, the pantry door will be reeded glass as well in the white. I am using Praa Sands Cambria counter tops and my island is being stained an Espresso brown color. I love gray cabinets but with us closing in a window that overlooked nothing, we lost a bit of natural light, so I decided to use the white uppers to keep things lighter. I want to pull the green-blue color out of the Cambria counter tops and had considered using a seafoam color back splash. Do you think this will coordinate with both the gray and the white and would using a gray grout with it help tie it together better as I really don't want to use a white grout to keep the issue with cleaning the grout under control??
