I got a bunch of plants at an end of season sale at a local nursery - rhododendrons, ferns and sedge/carex. I'm in the Portland area. Is it too late to plant these?
I'm new to gardening. What exactly is the risk of planting late in the season? Is it that the roots freeze before they are established? The forecast is showing a mild week ahead, lows in the 40s. I don't think we typically dip into the 30s until December...
