You don't want to replace it with wood? It seems to be the most desirable flooring.

Is the wood so old that it can't be refinished? Is there something wrong with the wood that it HAS to go?

If you must change a floor (remove wood or carpet) its replacement SHOULD be a perfect match to the remaining product. If you add tile, you would REALLY want to change out the entrance and kitchen tile to all the same product.

If you're removing the tile and the carpet to a hardwood, you would match the existing hardwood. This is how you get a home with multiple floors to look cohesive....as you remove one floor you get an IDENTICAL match to an existing product.

If you want tile, the best option (from a design point of view...and a resale point of view) = remove all wood AND tile and do it ALL in a single style.

Is it hardwood or laminate?

It is laminate, there was a leak in the kitchen. So we were thinking to replace the wood and tile to all the same kind of tile. From a design standpoint would that be too much tile for the kitchen dining room and entry way to all be tile? Thank you for your help!
