Immaculate. When you buy Optimara in Home Depot - it is in its first bloom - and has 6-8 flowers at best. Polina grew it to maturity - and it will have a head of 30-40 large flowers. Optimaras do hold their blossoms well - almost all these buds eventually will be open at the same time.

I think it is a great example. Well grown plant - shines. A humble Optimara can be absolutely breathtaking.

And if you grow turnips - make sure you grow happy turnips ;-)).

It's a great AV to give as a gift especially to people who don't grow too many violets and have space for only a few. It will grow large. It is a very easy grower. For example, I removed leaves from one plant to give to others for a RR. Within a few weeks, each spot where a leaf was removed had developed a sucker. I removed the suckers and refreshed the potting mix, replanting in a slightly larger pot. It is still symmetrical. It went to a new home along with two others. Joanne

Gorgeous variety! Great for beginners who don't know a thing. It lived through all my mistakes and eventually shaped a perfectly round compact rosette and with a crazy crown full of blooms. Mine bloomed even fuller than in Polina's photo above.
