Thank you...I did a search to see many potting table/benches posted to this forum group. Wasn't sure where to put it. But it seen in a search many came up here. Definitely not Asian feel...as my bonsai tend to be. But I'm a firm believer of having what I like at hand...and they both bring me joy.

The window was seen in the storefront of an antique shop which I happen to know the owner of. I was so afraid someone would snatch this window up from me that I called him at home. Asking to put a sold sign on it for me until I had time to pick it up. Their two days a week open hours...didn't corilate with my schedule that week. And windows like that doesn't sit long in the store front window. It's lovely...more country feel than Asian. But a new trend is coming for Artisian Bonsai. Which it to put an American twist to it. So...I have been told by a few that is what they get from seeing my bonsai on it. When in all honesty that was flattering to hear it. It wouldn't change my mind on how I display my trees. Filled up an awkward area on the deck...and the window is charming. Win/win if you ask me.

I absolutely love it too! Just perfect for that spot.

How creative! Nice design on your part, and good job of putting it together on your DH's part. You're lucky he'll do things like that. What a beautiful big bonsai tree in the center!

I wonder if the burlap curtains will be a good idea. The only time I left burlap outside in the warmer months, a big ole spider made her nest in it. Might have just been a coincidence.

Not only a piece of art but functional as well, kudos to both of you.

sandyslopes I'm not overly fearful of spiders...They are good for plants. Though I don't plan on attaching them until it's painted. It's not set in stone if I will add them though...just still in the thought process. I admired one potting table in town that had burlap on it. Thus the idea...

Thanks...That's a Thuja planting...It's pretty cool. One of my favorites in the collection of bonsai I have. Though...my husband claimed it. Told me...what ever I do...just don't kill his tree. lol

I don't mind spiders outside, but I don't like them ON ME! lol. That does freak me out a bit.

My DH LOVES bonsai plants, but I don't know much about them. My garden style so far is the opposite with big, wild, out of control plants. But any time we're somewhere bonsai plants are being shown my DH gravitates towards them. Your Thuja is inspiring. I can see why your husband claimed it for his own.

Sandy, does your DH have bonsai? There is a group here for bonsai...but I also visit bonsainut.com. It's more active and has more forum sections for particular species one is interested in. If he's interested send him over there. I'm sure he can learn a lot from the archives search engine as well.

What I have found...is stacking the deck in your favor by choosing trees zone friendly for ones area...one finds less frustration and more success with the hobby.

As for spiders...they serve their purpose. Being a pet is not one of them. Lol so yeah, not holding any endearingly here either.

And thank you for your kind word on my...husband's thuja. ;) . Lol it's huge...to large for me to easily lug around. My dream piece...very blessed to have it in my collection.

cadillactaste, no my DH has never tried bonsai, and we don't have any. I'm the one with a real interest in plants, but when he retires I'll see if steering him towards bonsai might be something he would like to try. Right now I think he'd like me to take care of bonsai plants for him to enjoy, but I've got my hands full with flower beds, the lawn, and the vegetable garden. I'll save that web site, just in case. :-)
