I would recommend some quality venetian blinds for both windows and an added set of linen curtains on the larger window. Personally, I would also put a warm honey colour or light blue on the walls not covered in slate to brighten the room. Similar to the attached picture.

My concern with the linen curtains is how close the ceiling is to the frame would the rod placement make that wall look even shorter then it is.

Plantation shutters would be my choice, especially because of height limitations.

The room seems cut up and small so I would put a wall of curtains to cover both windows. This would create fluidity in the room and add some warmth (the slate seems cold to me).

Really dislike the white trim around the dark doors. To me the doors are part of the trim and not an accent. Also not sure I like accent color on one wall in a room this small.

I would add some type of blinds to both sets of windows and add drapery panels to the large window only. As Lydia mentioned, I would paint the door the same color as the trim. I like the wall colors.

Have you thought about plantation shutters, faux wood blinds, or wood blinds? Those would look nice and add value to your home. Something like pictured.. you could match the fan with the wood tone.

I am not a fan of the color blocking in this room... to me it dates the room very quickly. I also think the dark color on the bed wall detracts from the feature behind the bed (is that wood?)
But, if you want to keep all those colors... I would at least apply a very light shade of the green to the ceiling rather than the white.

Since the room is contemporary... I would keep the window treatments simple, with a folded roman shade... these were from Restoration Hardware and they come in other colors.

The wall is California Gold Slate. It matched the Slate in the Master Bath.

The slate is beautiful..it's that wall's color that is bad. All colorists are not created equal. You needed a designer not a "colorist" whatever that really is. I have had clients tell me their painter recommended a specific color..painting is a skill, not a trained eye for color.

I would do inside mount woven wood shades.

It maybe be the photogapher (me! that is the issue) Most people that see it in person really love the way it looks. The Colorist is a designer but people in our area refer to her as the colorist as she has been written up in the newspaper ect as such. I really should have asked her opinion about the windows when she was over helping pick the colors for the downstairs in November. The dark doors are all me and I had the entire house doors all done at the same time the same dark color. I love them, they are not changing. So that is not on her at all. She suggested if I must go for a colored door to Gropius Grey instead of this dark.

Have you considered top-down/bottom-up cellular shades? They are super functional for allowing light in while giving you privacy and can be mounted on the inside or the outside of the window frame, come in tons of colors, etc

The slate is the statement in the room. So consider painting all the walls the same and the ceiling shade or 2 lighter or even the same color. Would be very dramatic and help minimize the low wall. paint door trim the same color as door. To draw even more attention to bed choose bedding using colors from slate. Perhaps neutral bedding with geometric print for pillow shams and coverlet at end of bed. Maybe a bolster pillow in a solid color. The more attention u draw to the windows the more u emphasis the low walls. This may sound radical but u could even paint the window trim to match walls and use inside mount shades of a similar color. This would give u a blank wall to hang a special piece of artwork. Instead of making the windows a focal point. Oh yeah, also paint switch plates.

I agree I think blackout Cellulars would be a great choice for a bedroom with the top down bottom up option to control light and privacy when needed.
