this sort of set up doesnt hold many people... 4 to be exact, as the corner is wasted. you'd do as good with a pair of small sofas with your pair of chairs and a couple floor cushions when there are more adults and the kids have to take to the floor.

if you have a 2 seater couch at the top, and a 3 seater along the right, you are up to 7. with spaces between for walking

Thanks everyone. I think I may look for some couches that are smaller in size but still have seating for at least two adults each. My kids are small so they can squeeze. I like them facing each other and I may or may not use my accent Chairs. I do have some swivels that are like bucket chairs. But I would want to recover them for this space. Oh fun!

Avoid loveseats. 3-seater sofa will usually seat two because people tend to leave an empty seat between them.

I would get two Ikea Ektorp sofas. They are super comfy, seat 3, and have inexpensive changeable slip covers. A chair will probably fit nicely because the sofas are not large.

nnigrt, there is only so much space in the room.............how exactly do you add more seats in this room without resorting to the sectional which the OP said she is returning? Bleachers? LOL

Yes. I am definitely thinking the two sofas facing each other. With or without the additional chairs. Although I like the bleacher idea too!! Lol. Maybe someone should invent a bleacher couch.

This is as close as they've come so far to bleachers. Add a layer of bean bags on the floor and you've got three levels!
