Are you talking about the black porous material that is supposed to stop weeds?

In my opinion, forget it if you expect it to control weeds! It will kill all worms, insects and many other critters that make your garden grow. I actually found a use for it to line pots before planting something in the pot. It prevents roots from escaping out the bottom. That is it. I regret purchasing more than a roll of it.

Any hole or tear will allow weeds to grow. If you use mulch over it then weeds will grow on top of it and be just as happy.

emerogork2(5) . I am not planning to use it for my garden. I am a commercial grower and intend to use the weed barrier as a base for several thousand container plants. This is the best way to prevent weeds from growing around the pots.
