A warm light gray should be fine. Your mosaic will look a lot darker once it is installed and grouted, so wait til everything is done to finalize a paint color. You can sample paint on a foamcore board in the meantime. Other paint colors such as blue, pale green, and off whites can be taken from the floor tile when gray is out of fashion in a few years.
