On my dining room set of six chairs, only two have arms (the chairs that we place at the two ends of the table).

I think whatever chair you select should have a matching cabriole leg to match your other chairs. I would repaint your walls to work better with the finish on your dining room table, and I would use that same color to select a chair fabric.

I'm not sure you have room for any more chairs. Have 8 friends over to test out the theory with full place settings and all. I think a better investment would be drapes, a rug (4' wider and longer than the table top) and new chair upholstery.

Megb, the right paint color that will work with the painted apron on your table would be my first choice for the room. That color will be a better back drop for you chandelier too.
