Stuart, why did you cut up the roots & shoots? What's with the blue thread you have put around the base? Could you please describe your experiment to us??

Sinha, I didn`t cut any shoots. i cut up the roots to make the plant fit into a bonsat pot. the blue wire is to hold the plant in the pot.The media is catsan cat litter plus and pine bark 1:1. In the pot around the roots i strew some potting soil. Do you think the plant will look better in a standing position?

Stuart, I think it looks great.

Growth will be much slower in that little pot together with the reduced root mass. The fine roots are used to absorb water and nutrients, and you cut most of those off. It will make more roots of course, but it may take a while. New growth will probably halt until this happens.

Thank you Daniel, I`m Experimenting some bonsai with the plant in the little pot.I will be updating with the result.

If you leave it tilted, after some growth of branches,you could twist it into the wind swept arabicum(remember from an earlier post here) look.

I will post a better picture so you can see that the leaves are not so healthy.

Maybe the pot is too small? Or spider mites are sucking the sap?

I see some web under a leaf.

That is a bummer Stuart. The stippling of the leaves is definitely from spider mites, or pests of the like. Neem oil is a great treatment although it stinks pretty bad. Love the tilt of this guy.
